Axolotl 🦎 💗 in its lily pad 🪷 dream.. 🎨 ✍🏽

Did you know? 👀 🦎💗

Baby water monster ..

“The word “axolotl” comes from Classical Nahuatl, the ancient language of the Aztecs. It is derived from the compound word āxōlōtl, which is classically interpreted as a combination of atl (meaning “water”) and xōlōtl (meaning “dog,” “servant,” or “monster”).

Relating to Aztec mythology, specifically to Xolotl, the canine-headed god of fire 🔥 , lightening⚡️ , and twins 👯 . According to legend, to avoid being sacrificed by the Sun ☀️ , Xolotl shape-shifted into various things and ultimately disguised himself by transforming into the aquatic salamander 🦎 .

They are neotenic ..Unlike most salamanders that go through a metamorphic change and live on land, axolotls never outgrow their juvenile 👶🏼 🦎 appearance and continue to live in the water💧. “

Tiny delights! Watching the waves, moving the sand back and forth, and noticed variety of baby shells just underneath.. 😀🥰 🧘🏻‍♀️ 🐚 🌊

Janthina Janthina! Violet Sea Snail.. 💜🤍 I found my first ones last month and was so excited! So many tiny ones hidden along the shore .. I couldn’t tell if a lot of them were living or not because there were lots of slimy bubbles coming out of them!

I looked it up and they actually float through the ocean upside-down on a raft of these bubbles they produce .. they either travel alone or in big groups and pushed by the tide and winds kind of like Valella Valella ( the blue funky jelly looking things you’ll see sometimes on shore!)
💜🤍☺️

Dolphins! 🐬 I haven’t been able to surf for months now ( dealing with ear stuff so have to be out of the water 🥺) and miss my dolphins hellos. I’ve been patient but starting to get antsy to get in!
So grateful though to live by the coast and still get my ocean medicine! The sea will be there when I’m good to get back in! 🌊☺️

Absolutely surreal experience… Hawk landed arms length from me .. eye level on a rock on the beach none the less! I didn’t even see him at first and turned my head and these beautiful yellow eyes were quietly staring - we locked eyes and then I slowly moved my arm to feel for my phone/ camera.. and it flew off to the perch nearby..

Two ladies were watching from afar and were just as mesmerized amazed by the experience - never seeing a wild hawk voluntarily come so close to a human.

I thought maybe I was by its nest so I moved, but I’ve seen hawks protect their nest territory by being very vocal so maybe it was hunting a squirrel nearby.. but it was .. truly incredible and I felt it as a messenger! 👀❤️

“The hawk sees the mountains and the mouse at once with fierce vision and a singular clarity. 🦅 🏔️ 🐭 .. They are regarded as a powerful protector and a messenger of truth..”
